SSP Announces New Investment Partner

April 13, 2017 — Skye Perry

Warren Equity Partners SSp

DENVER, APRIL 13, 2017 — I went full time with SSP Innovations ten years ago in 2007 and have seen the company grow substantially each year since. Our partnerships with Esri and other key companies have fueled this growth, which has enabled SSP to provide utilities and pipeline operators around the country with industry-leading services in GIS and work management.

WEPAs we continue to evolve to meet the growing needs of our industry around the changing technology of the Esri Utility Network and UPDM, we expect to see accelerated growth in the coming decade. With this significant opportunity comes additional investment. I, along with my leadership team, have conducted a multi-year search to find an investment partner that believes in me, my staff, and SSP’s vision for the future. We have found such a partner in Warren Equity Partners (WEP), who is experienced in the utility and GIS markets and whose staff has a proven track record of supporting owner-led organizations through significant growth phases.

The entire SSP team and I are excited to continue advancing the use of Esri utility and pipeline GIS throughout the industry. I will remain the president and CEO and will continue to be a significant owner in the business going forward. The support of, and investment by, WEP in our future have reinvigorated my passion for where SSP is headed. My entire staff will continue to provide outstanding service as we forge ahead through this next exciting phase of our future.

“Warren Equity has in-depth familiarity with the demand for GIS and WFM services in the utility and government sectors,” said Scott Bruckmann, Partner at Warren Equity. “SSP is clearly a knowledge leader in the space.  We feel that SSP is extremely well positioned under Skye’s leadership and are excited to partner with the company in its next chapter of growth.”

I had very stringent goals related to finding the right investment partner for our future. I’d like to share some of those goals with you as I believe it informs our continued outlook for success. The ideal partner would:

  • Keep SSP’s unique identity in the industry
  • Maintain SSP’s (pretty amazing) culture
  • Support SSP in growing our market presence in the coming decade
  • Maintain my leadership of the company and our vision and direction for the future
  • Possess a strong understanding of the utility, pipeline, and GIS industries
  • Have experience in, and a desire to work with, services-focused businesses
  • Provide capital to support increased organic growth as well as growth by acquisition

WEP met all of these goals and is well-aligned with our business model. Rest assured that our future is bright and that I am personally committed to leading this company in providing the same small-company, big-impact approach we have delivered for the past ten years. This partnership is all about expanding customer relationships and servicing the increasing demand for utility & pipeline GIS and work management services throughout the United States and beyond.

If you have any further questions about the partnership or our goals for the future, I’d be more than happy to speak with you directly. Please don’t hesitate to email me or to reach out via our contact page as I am copied on all submissions and will get back to you quickly. I look forward to the discussion!
