Recently SSP Innovations hired a new Senior Quality Assurance Manager, Troy Corrente. Here’s a little more about him and his role here:
Tell us about yourself.
I was born and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. I attended LSU and later moved to Orlando, Florida where I lived for almost three years. I got married while living in Florida, and then proceeded to move to Denver, Colorado where I still reside and plan to be for a very long time. I have two wonderful daughters who are very talented and stay busy with school and activities. That of course keeps me busy with their activities. Outside of the traditional high school/college type jobs, I have always held positions in companies involving audit controls and quality assurance processes.
Why SSP?
Most of my career has been with large corporations within the finance and insurance realm. I was excited to have the opportunity to work for a small but quickly growing company. I was also enthused to learn a new industry. While quality processes are relatively the same everywhere, the opportunity to learn the GIS industry was something I was looking forward to.
What specific experience, skill set, etc. do you have that will bring value to SSP?
I have over 20 years of quality assurance experience in software development and have seen many approaches and methodologies to achieve quality. Mentorship, teaching, leadership, and getting things done are some of my skills.
How has your first couple of months gone?
The first two months here at SSP have been a learning and observation process. I have attempted to gather as much information as possible about SSP, our people, and our clients. Everyone at SSP has been very helpful in that regard, and couldn’t be any nicer.
What kind of work will you be working on here?
My goals at SSP are to constantly analyze where we are in terms of quality and take every opportunity to improve so that we can deliver the best possible solutions to our client base.
What are your hobbies / interests outside of work?
Among my interests are running, golfing, skiing, and cooking. I like to believe that I am the best Cajun/Creole cook in the state of Colorado. And I would be remiss not to mention my fanaticism for all things LSU sports related with an emphasis on LSU football. Geaux Tigers!
