DENVER, Feb. 04, 2016 — Tri-State Generation & Transmission Association, Inc. has selected SSP to lead a discovery effort as part of a plan to significantly improve the quality of its telecommunications network data.
This initial project will allow for the team to properly scope the comprehensive data clean-up effort, and will ultimately support the ongoing implementation of Fiber Manager™ with SSP’s custom extension for logical bandwidth provisioning. SSP partner Wind Lake Solutions will provide data clean-up services within the latest engagement. The project will allow for a healthier and more reliable telecom geodatabase for the new GIS tools to consume.
Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is a wholesale electric power supplier owned by the 44 electric cooperatives that it serves. Tri-State generates and transmits electricity to its member systems throughout a 200,000 square-mile service territory across Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Serving approximately 1.5 million consumers, Tri-State was founded in 1952 by its member systems to provide a reliable, cost-based supply of electricity. Headquartered in Westminster, Colo., nearly 1,500 people are employed by Tri-State throughout its four-state service area.
The project is slated to begin in February.
