DENVER, SEPTEMBER 20, 2016 — The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) has hired SSP to perform the discovery phase of a broad Esri implementation project to replace its legacy GE Smallworld GIS and significantly enhance the functionality presented to its users.
SSP was recently selected as the winning bidder in an RFP process for the entire Esri GIS implementation, and this discovery project is the first phase of that effort. The project includes the design of the data migration, as well as some integration and architectural planning activities. Ultimately this implementation effort will provide an industry-leading GIS infrastructure which engages and supports the BWL across all of its departments.
The Lansing BWL is a publicly-owned municipal utility providing electricity, water and other services to the citizens of Lansing and surrounding areas. It is the largest municipal utility in the State of Michigan.
The project began in September.
