SSP Innovations is Pleased to Announce the Release of SPANS 4.1

December 13, 2021 — Keith Hupperts

This release focused on providing users with a new Pole Import Wizard, leveraging AngularJS & VueJS more broadly across SPANS to improve the user experience and performance and minor bug fixes.

The Pole Import Wizard allows SPANS users to collect data about poles involved in a proposal and bulk upload those poles into SPANS, eliminating potential data entry errors and reducing the time and effort required to create and submit proposals.  The tool makes use of a configurable mapping file to define pole attribute source and destination locations and a simple UI to select the mapping file and pole source files.

SPANS use of the AngularJS & VueJS frameworks has expanded from its primary use on the Pole page to also be used with the Proposal page.  These technologies allow for more client-side data processing, which reduces the number of queries back to the server and redraws of the Proposal page as users enter information into SPANS.  The result is a cleaner interface, faster application, and better user experience.

A list of key updates is below:

  • Pole Import Wizard in OH implementation
  • Proposal Page usage of AngularJS & VueJS
  • Bug Fixes:
    • File upload does not validate
    • Fill All for 2-Pole Condition changing pole ownership
    • Not equal operator not evaluating correctly
    • Point attributes with Read-Only flag not being stored properly
    • Pole Number not visible in the pole page header
    • Poles not displayed on proposal page map
    • Responding company dropdown not properly alphabetized
    • And more
