Utility GIS Leader Gains Smart Grid Technology and Executive Resources to Drive Market Growth
DENVER, JUNE 19, 2017 — SSP Innovations, LLC (SSP), a leader of utility GIS services is pleased to announce its acquisition of Paleon Solutions, Inc., the provider of the AMI Office Suite for the maximization of utility “Smart Meter” investments. With the Paleon Solutions acquisition, SSP will acquire the Paleon AMI Office Suite and incorporate Paleon’s management team into executive leadership positions.
“The strategic alignment of our existing product suite with that of SSP, in addition to being able to help lead the organization as it continues to expand, provide a strong basis for combining our companies,” Paleon founder Aaron Patterson said. “We are excited about the future.”
Patterson will join SSP as president, responsible for the day-to-day company operations. Paleon CTO Adam Tonkin will join as SSP’s Senior Director of Technology Strategy, leading innovative expansion and direction of SSP and Esri-related product and next generation technologies.

Patterson previously served in leadership positions at Enspiria Solutions and Convergent Group, prior to founding Paleon with Tonkin. Tonkin has served for more than 20 years in system engineering and solutions architecture.
The Paleon acquisition will assist SSP in increasing market share in the utility GIS and Work Management System (WMS) spaces while maintaining the company’s ability to attract and retain the industry’s top consulting talent.
