DENVER, Jan. 20, 2014 — SSP is proud to announce that NiSource officially released Esri and Schneider Electric at version 10.1 into production this morning. This complex implementation includes six individual production geodatabases covering seven states (Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Massachusetts), a 6-server Citrix farm, as well as significant integrations to third party systems including Maximo EAM. The combined project team has worked diligently over the last 7 months to complete the upgrade, testing, and production release strategy.
This go live is a significant step forward for the large utility as they embrace the new version of GIS technology.
NiSource was SSP Innovations’ first utility customer. SSP architected and implemented NIPSCO’s GIS system in the mid 2000’s and served a key role in the conversion and integration to IBM Maximo, which was implemented in Indiana in 2011.
NiSource is a gas and electric utility with operations in seven states. NiSource’s balanced portfolio of regulated energy businesses provides natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, as well as electric generation, transmission and distribution to a total of nearly 4 million customers located throughout a high-demand energy corridor stretching from the U.S. Gulf Coast through the Midwest to New England.
