Imperial Irrigation District
SSP Innovations acquired TC technology on July 2, 2018. The following content was created prior to the acquisition.
Imperial Irrigation District (IID) provides electric power to more than 145,000 customers in the Imperial Valley and parts of Riverside and San Diego counties. As the sixth largest utility in California, IID controls more than 1,100 megawatts of energy derived from a diverse resource portfolio that includes its own generation, and long- and short-term power purchases. As a consumer-owned utility, IID Energy works to efficiently and effectively meet customers’ demands at the best possible rates to help maintain the area’s low cost-of-living.
IID targets underground locating for improvement. Before using MIMS, IID received USA South tickets through a generic email address. Each day the tickets were printed and then manually divided into geographic regions so a local inspector could make individual assignments. The process was time consuming and wasteful.
IID benefits from automation and mapping. Using MIMS, IID provides field workers with mapping software to electronically receive, sort, assign and perform underground locating. Tickets are automatically dispatched to inspectors so they can start from home eliminating unnecessary travel to the office. The lead inspector handles overflow and ticket reassignment as needed. Overall, the software saves time and money helping IID improve underground locating.
