Consumers Energy is one of the largest combination utilities, providing electric and natural gas service to nearly 6.6 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents, in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.

Consumers Energy upgrades its mobile software. After over 10 years of return on investment using legacy mobile software, an initiative to modernize applications and improve field work allowed Consumers Energy to leverage its TC Technology ELA and deploy MIMS Mobile.

Consumers Energy streamlines field work by equipping over 2000 gas and electric crews with MIMS Mobile. The solution is tightly integrated with ABB’s Service Suite so that dispatched service orders originating in SAP are plotted on a map for easy viewing and handy turn-by-turn navigation.

Situational awareness is increased by sharing crew locations powered by GPS helping supervisors. When legacy data is needed any scanned service record card is available for quick access using intuitive searching and viewing capability.
