DENVER, August 18, 2017 — SSP Innovations, the leading provider of utility and telecommunications GIS and work management services and solutions, announced today the hiring of veteran enterprise solutions strategist Mehrdod Mohseni. Mohseni joins SSP as Vice President of Grid Solutions. He will lead SSP in building out a new management consulting arm.
“Management consulting is a new service not previously available to our customers,” SSP CEO Skye Perry said. “We have done some GIS roadmapping for specific users within an organization. Now, we can broaden this to an enterprise-wide approach.”
Mohseni will guide SSP’s energy and telecommunications clients in leveraging their investments enterprise-wide through large-scale integrations of GIS and related emerging technologies, including big data and asset and work management systems.
“In many cases, these organizations can already see the vision from a technical perspective,” Perry said. “Now it’s time to show them how they are going to get there as an organization.”
Mohseni has extensive experience helping utility and telecommunications organizations understand how disparate systems can interrelate. He will focus heavily on helping these organizations stay current and competitive through evolving technologies and new business model transformations.
“My goal is to help our clients answer the question, ‘What does this mean for our business as we evolve?’” Mohseni said. “Utilities and telecommunications companies will need to come up with the right long-term investment strategy and deployment roadmap as they continue to implement new enterprise applications and systems. This must be done in a systematic and pragmatic way.”
SSP brought Mohseni on board because of his nearly three decades of experience working as a utility professional, professional engineer, and management consultant.
“Plus, Mehrdod is a well-respected and well-liked person in the industry. A great business and cultural fit for SSP,” Perry said.
Mohseni selected SSP because of its reputation as a leader in utility and telecommunications software development.
“SSP has assembled some of the brightest minds in the industry,” Mohseni said. “Most firms can’t claim to deliver this level of superior customer satisfaction while taking on such complex systems integration challenges. Now, SSP is well-suited to support clients in establishing the best business models, roadmaps, and investment strategies upfront — and then execute the implementations and integrations necessary to ensure our clients are successful.”
Most recently, Mehrdod Mohseni served as a member of Navigant’s Grid Modernization team where he assisted utility clients in transforming their operations and systems to support the rapidly changing needs of customers, markets, and competitive environments. Mohseni has also advised on emerging distribution and transmission technologies, grid operations and automation upgrades, and change management for successful program implementation. An expert in systems and operational efficiency applications, Mohseni offers insight in the areas of smart metering infrastructure, meter data management systems, grid analytics, mobile workforce management systems, and other related areas. In the past, Mohseni has also served as the chief commercial officer of Ping Things, Inc.; as CEO and president of Utility Integration Solutions, Inc. (UISOL); as chief marketing officer of GE Digital Energy; and as senior vice president and general manager at Enspiria Solutions, Inc. In addition to having more than 26 years of industry experience, Mohseni is a registered Professional Engineer and a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
