DENVER, Feb. 6 — SSP Innovations President Skye Perry has been awarded the Denver Business Journal’s prestigious “40 Under 40” award. This award recognizes the 40 most outstanding professionals under age 40 for their business success and community involvement.
“I’m extremely grateful to the Denver Business Journal for this distinguishing award,” Perry said. “Working strategically with energy and telecommunications professionals across this country is a privilege. Together, we have made a mark on the critical technology that keeps our country both powered and connected across very densely populated cities and incredibly rural areas alike — both safely and reliably.”
The “40 Under 40” award comes soon after SSP Innovations was awarded the 2017 Gator100 award from the University of Florida for the third year in a row. The Gator100 award celebrates the 100 fastest-growing Gator-owned or Gator-led businesses in the world.
Perry comes from a family of hard workers. His grandfather started Perry Steel Incorporated which his father carried on and his mother rose the corporate ladder in a male-dominated era early in her career prior to becoming a journalist.
“I must have inherited the working gene,” Perry said. “My ambition comes from a combination of wanting to prove to myself what I could do and never shying away from hard work.”
Perry credits his achievements to his family support system, most importantly wife Shana Perry, and to a team of driven employees.
“I learned a while ago you can’t force someone to succeed, but what you can do is create an environment that allows them to succeed,” Perry said. “I want to have more than a successful company. I want others to love being on the journey with me.”
Perry will be honored at the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 event March 16.
